Journeyman Cabinetmaker

The Cabinet Maker is responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing items needed for the completion of projects as well as setting up and maintaining various tools while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. The Cabinet Maker will work in a fast-paced but casual environment and play a supporting role in ensuring customer satisfaction by producing quality work in an efficient manner.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools and practices of the cabinet making trade
  • Ability to learn quickly, think logically and understand abstract relationships
  • Proficient in planning and managing projects
  • Ability to perform math; read technical information, analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions
  • Flexibility is required to work with others and operate equipment using a variety of processes
  • Ability to work with a wide range of individuals
  • Performs consistently under pressure
  • Must be focused and attentive to details
  • Must be able to function with interruptions and deadlines
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of cabinetmaking and finishing
  • Is able to read, interpret and compose work orders
  • Interest in keeping up with ever-changing technology
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand on feet for 8 hours
  • Steel toe boots and glasses / goggles are required
