Kitchen & Bath Reno Q&A

April 28, 2022

When it comes to getting started with your kitchen or bath renovation it is common to have a lot of questions. Our designers frequently get asked the same types of questions, so we thought we would share some of the most frequently asked questions with you!

Where do we start?

Research. Before you are really ready to start you need to understand what you like, what you don’t like, and ultimately how you want your space to function for you and your family. Maybe you went to a friend’s house or saw a picture in a magazine and thought – I’d love that in my kitchen – so research and gathering inspirational images of what you like is an essential first step.

How much will it cost?

This will always depend on your desired outcomes, and goals for your project. If you want all the highest tech, and most luxurious appliances, then that will dictate your budget. If you have a strict budget of $50,000, then that’s what we work with. The nice thing about working with us and coming to a designer is that we help make it work for you. Not forcing a kitchen into what you can’t afford, want or need. It also helps that we have a few different products for any project.

How long will it take?

There are multiple stages in doing a reno. Everything changes depending on the size of the project. On average, a demolition and removal normally takes the shortest amount of time. Then next would be installing the actual cabinets and the prep work of the area can take a lot of time depending on how much change is happening. You can also spend a lot of time in the design phase to ensure you are getting things exactly the way you want them. Ultimately, this is a process that is likely to happen over several months.

Should I move out?

Everyone’s situation is different but living through a kitchen renovation can be challenging for you and the workers, and the project can really move much more quickly if no one is there to work around. Bathrooms are usually easier to live through, particularly if you have more than one.

There are a lot of things that our years of experience can help you with. If you are thinking about starting your renovation project, or just have questions about how to get started don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
