Get Started on Building Your Dream Kitchen with Gem

If you’re like us, you’ve been scouring Pinterest and Instagram this Winter for the latest trends to help you get some ideas for your dream kitchen.

Spring and Summer are a great time to take home projects to the next level! If you’re ready to get started with the planning and execution of your kitchen makeover, our team at Gem are here to help guide you through the process, and take those ideas you have and make them a reality! 

A great way to get started is to schedule an appointment with one of our designers, which you can do on our site, or by calling in to our showroom at (780) 454-8652. You can also visit our showroom in person- we are open Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm, and have two designers here at all times.  

In our first conversation, we’ll grab some information from you. It’s good to have:

• the measurements of your space on hand
• the wall/walls where you’ll want to have the cabinets installed
• the measurements of your appliances
• an idea of your budget 

We’ll also look through any images you’ve brought in and will walk through our different styles that are available based on what you are looking for. You can also check our site for past projects to get inspiration!

Once our designer has a sense of your vision, we can then draw up a plan and quote the project. If you know what you want in that first meeting, it will make it easy for our team to have a plan and quote ready that much sooner. But not to worry if you’re coming in without a plan; our designers are experts in their field and they can guide you to the kitchen of your dreams!

Once this quote is sent back to you, we can fine tune and make the necessary revisions to make sure that we land on a plan that works perfectly for you. 

Then, we’ll come to your home and do a site measure, to make sure that we have the accurate measurements for the product we’ll be ordering. At that point, you will sign off and the cabinets will get ordered!

On a side note, we also provide countertop and lining options if you’d like to add those to your kitchen.

Once cabinets are ordered, depending on the scope and size of your project, it can take anywhere from 8-16 weeks for them to arrive, so it’s good to plan ahead. In this time, you’ll want to schedule to have your present kitchen demo’d, and make any other necessary arrangements. 

Installation is a speedy process- with our highly skilled team, some jobs can be installed in just one day! Once the cabinets are in, then you can move on to the other elements of your design.
