Service Technician – Subcontractor

The Service Technician is responsible for performing repairs, touch-ups, warranty items, and completion of work required in the field. All information should be communicated about site conditions, parts required and providing accurate reasons regarding why work was needed to the Service Coordinators in the office.

The Service Technician will work in a fast-paced semi-casual environment and play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by actively engaging the Service Coordinators, Site Superintendents and Homeowners in a wide range of customer service scenarios while adhering to quality control standards, jobsite safety and making sure building codes are followed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                             

  • Arrive at and complete daily appointment items scheduled by the Service Coordinator in a timely manner
    • Complete hazard assessment forms for every site appointment as required under the company safety policy
    • Perform any repairs, touch-ups, warranty items, completion work, or maintenance as noted
    • Troubleshoot, identify and make clear notes regarding anything still to be completed and fill out stats with times for each reason
  • Report to the Service Coordinator the status of each project on a daily basis and provide updates
    • Review and verify details as requested by the Service Coordinator
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork on a daily basis
  • Ensure adequate parts and inventory are present in the vehicle for all jobs to be completed
  • Communicate with the Service Coordinators, Site Superintendents, and Homeowners to develop and maintain effective rapport and exceptional customer service
  • Attend monthly safety meetings lead by the Service Manager
    • Keep up to date with Safe Job Practices and Procedures
    • Communicate any ongoing concerns regarding site conditions, product and/or design issues
  • Adhere to the dress code appropriate to each job site and conditions
    • Proper PPE as required for construction sites
    • Present neat and clean appearance wearing company uniform
  • Assist fellow Service Technicians and/or Installation Sub-Contractors with duties as needed

COVERAGE AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED      

  • Own vehicle suited to accommodate tools and material
  • Current WCB coverage and Personal Liability Coverage ($2,000,000)
  • Current First Aid (Emergency)
  • Current CSTS – Construction Safety Training System
  • Criminal record check
  • Appropriate PPE, steel toed boots, hard hat, ear and eye protection
  • E-mail and smart phone capable of e-mailing site pictures, reports, invoices, receiving updates and schedules
  • Alberta #2 first aid kit
  • A 10lb ABC fire extinguisher
  • All necessary tools with proper guards in good working condition

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Cabinetmaking or 5 years equivalent field experience
  • Valid driving license – class 5, clean driving abstract
  • Detailed understanding of customer service
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools and practices of the cabinet making trade
  • Ability to learn quickly, think logically and understand abstract relationships
  • Interest in keeping up with ever-changing technology
  • Ability to perform math; read technical information, analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions
  • Flexibility is required to work with others and operate equipment using a variety of processes
  • Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand on feet for 8 hours
  • Steel toe boots and glasses / goggles are required
  • Physical/Environmental requirements: driving, walking, standing, lifting, bending, kneeling

Journeyperson Cabinet Maker

The Journeyperson Cabinet Maker is attentive and agile to oversee the creation of cabinetry from start to finish.  The Cabinet Maker will be responsible for selecting the materials, constructing the cabinets, and then applying appropriate finishes.  Responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing items needed for the completion of projects as well as setting up and maintaining various tools while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

The Journeyperson Cabinet Maker will work in a fast-paced but casual environment and play a supporting role in ensuring customer satisfaction by producing quality work in an efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Operating woodworking machines and using hand tools to cut, shape and form wood
  • Selecting the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task
  • Must plan the most effective approach to ensure that each project completed is on time
  • Creating standard and custom components of cabinets
  • Responsible for inspecting each piece to ensure completion is accurate, necessary finishes are applied and meets quality standards
  • Preparing and interpreting drawings
  • Shop is clean, organized and safe

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Completion of a training program or apprenticeship
  • Min 3 years’ experience as a Cabinet Maker
  • Ability to perform math; read technical information, analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices of the cabinet making trade
  • Proficient in planning and managing projects
  • Flexibility is required to work with others and operate equipment using a variety of processes

Installation Admin Assistant

The Installation Admin Assistant provides crucial support to the Installation Department in a fast-paced but relaxed work setting. This role primarily involves handling data within the software management system to support accurate and efficient installations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                             

  • Complete invoicing for installers
    • Enter breakdowns daily for pre-approval, performing a two-stage check against the IRHA from job sites
    • Summarize bi-monthly invoicing
  • Installer reports (IRHA) data entry
    • Accurately input data from installer reports
    • Coordinate with service coordinators, project managers, and the software management system for scheduling and updating appointments
    • Order necessary products from the Shop or factory to complete installation/service tasks
    • Rush order part requests
    • Generate ITR’s
  • Handle calls and inquiries from installation subcontractors
  • Communicate effectively with Site Superintendents regarding relevant concerns
  • Report on recurring issues related to installation, sales, design, or factory operations
  • Assist with overflow tasks and provide department coverage during absences
    • Address daily inquiries from subcontractors and technicians regarding site, safety, product, or design issues, working to resolve these efficiently
    • Production Scheduling and Inventory Management
    • Execute daily and weekly production scheduling changes and updates as needed
    • Liaise with cabinet supplier representatives and builder groups as necessary
    • Manage requests for rearranging production dates, arrival, and shipping dates
    • Update and maintain a comprehensive warehouse inventory organized by the builder
    • Collaborate with relevant personnel/departments for requisitions
    • Process and record factory confirmation emails, updating dates in the software management system
    • Maintain the builder key inventory and key cutting as needed

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in kitchen cabinet installation fundamentals
  • Proficient in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Diplomatic and professional in client and subcontractor interactions
  • Capacity to establish a rapport with Installation Technicians
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required

Warehouse Laborer

The Warehouse Laborer must be physically fit, have excellent stamina, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.  As a Warehouse Laborer, you will be responsible for handling and lifting cabinets, ensuring they are properly stored, and assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed.  Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you are a motivated self-starter that takes pride in your work and believes in working collaboratively to get the job done.  The Warehouse Laborer will work in a fast-paced but casual environment and play a supporting role in ensuring customer satisfaction by handling all materials carefully in order to mitigate damage while adhering to safe job practices and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                     

  • Lift, carry, and move cabinets and other products in the warehouse.
  • Careful handling of products and materials received and shipped in various locations while adhering to organizational procedures.
  • Ensure that cabinets are properly stored and organized.
  • Follow safety protocols and use appropriate lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Support Warehouse Operations by helping develop best practices for the Shipping and Receiving Processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Assist other departments as required with safely moving large items.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Physical strength and endurance to lift heavy cabinets for long periods of time. Required to walk, stand, lift, carry, and bend.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work well with numbers – (stocking/sorting orders)
